From Toula's table
This is less about cooking and more about balance: salty, tangy makdous, cool labneh, fresh vegetables and warm bread on one generous plate.
Method
Step by step
- 1
Spoon the labneh onto a serving plate and make a shallow well in the centre.
- 2
Arrange the makdous, tomatoes, cucumber, herbs and olives around the labneh.
- 3
Drizzle the labneh with olive oil and serve with warm bread.
Toula Tip
Let refrigerated makdous sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving so its flavour opens up.
Serving suggestion
Serve for breakfast, brunch or as part of a larger mezze table.
Storage
Assemble only what you will eat. Return makdous and labneh to refrigeration promptly and follow the storage guidance on each product label.
Substitutions
Use thick yogurt in place of labneh, or add boiled eggs for a more substantial breakfast.
