From Toula's table
Zhourat blends vary, so treat steeping time as a guide and follow the product label if it gives more specific instructions for the blend.
Method
Step by step
- 1
Place the zhourat blend in a teapot or heatproof jug.
- 2
Pour over the freshly boiled water, cover and steep for 7–10 minutes, or follow the product label if it specifies a different time.
- 3
Strain into cups. Add honey to taste and finish with a slice of lemon and mint if using.
Toula Tip
Cover the pot while the herbs steep so more of their aroma stays in the tea.
Serving suggestion
Serve warm after a meal or with a light breakfast.
Storage
Best freshly brewed. Refrigerate leftover unsweetened tea for up to 24 hours and reheat once.
Substitutions
Serve without honey, or sweeten each cup individually. Orange peel can replace lemon for a different citrus note.
